General/Vascular Surgery


General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. This curriculum will cover common surgical pathology, terminology, examinations, and procedures with an emphasis on the surgical and vascular disorders seen in clinical practice. You will be provided an overview of clinical general surgical and vascular medicine needed to build a strong foundation for the aspiring medical scribe in the medical specialty of general and vascular surgery.
